About This Package

An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a key business identification number which is mandatory for export from India or Import to India. The IEC is a unique number through which a person is identified at all offices of Customs and DGFT across India. No export or import shall be made by any person without obtaining an IEC. For services exports, however, IEC shall not be necessary except when the service provider is taking benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy.

  • Utility bill of the principal place of business
  • Rent agreement of the business place (if rented)/ Sale deed copy (if owned)
  • Cancelled cheque bearing the name of the proprietorship firm
  • GST Certificate
  • Email ID and Mobile Number

Digital signature is required if the mobile number is not linked with Aadhar.

For Partnership Firm

  • Partnership Deed
  • PAN Card of the Partnership Firm
  • PAN Card of all the partners
  • Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Passport of all the partners
  • Utility bill of the registered office
  • Rent agreement of the registered office (if rented)/sale deed copy (if owned by the Partnership Firm)
  • Cancelled cheque bearing name of the Partnership Firm
  • GST Certificate
  • Email ID and Mobile Number

For LLP

  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • PAN Card of LLP
  • PAN Card of all the designated partners
  • Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Passport of all the designated partners

  • Rent agreement of the registered office (if rented)/sale deed copy (if owned by the LLP)
  • Cancelled cheque bearing name of the LLP

For Private Limited Company/One Person Company

  • Certificate of Incorporation

Do I need to be physically present for the process?

No, you are not required to present physically to get the IEC Registration. You are just required to provide the documents as per checklist.

Is it mandatory to update IEC every year?

All IEC holders are now legally required to update and validate their IEC Details, even if there are no changes, from April to June once every year through Online system, failing which their IEC shall be de-activated and no import or export activity will be possible.
