About this service
An influencer or freelancer agreement has to settle deliverables, money and content rights before the first post goes up.
This covers contracts between brands and content creators, and between businesses and independent professionals: influencer campaign agreements, freelance design, writing or development contracts, retainer arrangements and one-off collaborations. All are contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, but the commercial detail is very different from an employment contract.
The agreement should say exactly what is being delivered and by when, how many revisions are included, what the fee is and when it becomes payable, whether the brand gets ownership or only a licence to use the content, how long that usage runs, and what happens if either side walks away mid-campaign.
For influencer work there is also disclosure. The Advertising Standards Council of India's guidelines require paid promotions and material connections to be disclosed clearly, and the agreement should put that obligation in writing so both sides know who carries the risk. Our in-house team drafts all of this for whichever side you are on.
